Bookmarks

This is a bookmark I made from yarn that was as thin as thread. To make this I made seven granny squares alternating colors. Then I crochet them together with single crochets and added a simple single crochet border.
I gave these bookmarks to my grandparents and to some of my friends as Valentine gifts.

BED IN SUMMER
By Robert Louis Stevenson

In winter I get up at night
And dress by yellow candlelight.
In summer, quite the other way,
I have to go to bed by day.

I have to go to bed and see
The birds still hopping on the tree,
Or hear the grown-up people's feet
Still going past me in the street.

And does it seem hard to you,
When all the sky is clear and blue,
And I should like so much to play,
To have to go to bed by day?

More Quilting

Last Craft Club Becca and I continued on our quilting projects. I had to sew some of my squares together then I cut out my batting and backing. Next I sewed the top, batting and backing together. Today I trimmed the strings. All I have to do now is the edges. I really like how it is turning out.

On my birthday I had my grandparents over for dinner, cake and ice cream. My mom made a homemade lemon cake with a raspberry filling and frosting on top. She also made my favorite soups. (Taco soup and chicken noodle.) It was very fun.

Quilting

This week at Craft Club I did some quilting with Hunter and Becca. I have been learning how to use a sewing machine so I was looking forward to Craft Club. Hunter and I are making a little blanket and Becca is making a potholder. Hunter's sewing machine was not cooperating very well. So Hunter used my sewing machine and I used Becca's when she was cutting squares. I thoroughly enjoy quilting.
