Christmas Morning

This morning we opened presents. I love everything I got!

Ellen got some playmobil for Christmas and has been playing with it.

For Christmas Ellen gave me a pound of wool to spin. It is really fun to spin.
Thanks Ellen!

Thanksgiving Baking

Today we have taken a break from school to bake pies, make sweet potatoes, and stuffing. When we were making the pumpkin pies mom added exactly double the amount of half and half that we needed in the filling. So we doubled the whole recipe and are going to make a pumpkin pie with pecan streusel using the extra filling. This will be our third pumpkin pie! I can't wait for tomorrow.

Creative Pumpkins

Last night my dad wrote on two other pumpkins. He does a very good job.

I'm thankful for my family.

Fun with Cousins

Last Saturday night we had our weekly family dominoes game at our house. My cousins Julia, Emily, Olivia , and Amilia came. When I was in the kitchen Julia came into the kichen with a tub. It was so funny. She set it down and sat in it. ( Juilia first picture.) Then my mom got a bigger tub to see if she would want to sit in that tub. Juilia didn't want to but Amilia decided to sit in it.

Birdie Buffet

Yesterday my grandma and grandpa took Ellen and I to Lauritzen Gardens and took a class about how to make different kinds of bird feeders. These are some of the ones we made. I really enjoyed making them.

Jorje

On Ellen's Birthday I had set up a scavenger hunt. At the end was a dog I had crocheted. Ellen named it Jorje. It took a while to make.

Fun at the Lake

Every August our homeschooling friends go to Two Rivers and have lunch, play in the sand, and swim in the lake. Yesterday we played tag in the water. It was really fun.

Cute Little Furry Critters

Last night our friends Hunter and Elliot showed us some baby bunnies they had caught in their backyard. My friends think they were about three weeks old.

Going to the Farm...

On Monday and Tuesday Mom, Ellen, Aunt Pam, Olivia, Amilia, and I went to Hebron. My Aunt Suzy, Uncle Greg, Danielle, and Rachael live there. They have baby goats and we got to hold them. It was really fun.

This is their llama named Oreo.

This is their bull named Bob. He is very big.

On Tuesday Aunt Suzy took Olivia, Ellen, and I out to a pasture where they keep their cattle. This is Diamond and she has a two year old calf that is still nursing. Her calf is black and is standing next to her in this picture.

Baby House Sparrows

The other day my dad spotted three or four baby House Sparrows. They were just sitting on our walk way chirping. Then they started to hop around and one by one they flew away. It was fun watching them.

The Dolls Completed

Here is a picture of the dolls that we sent to Nicaragua.

Mallard Ducklings

A couple weeks ago my dad was working at a nursing home which has a little pond in front of it. In the pond there are some Mallard ducks male and female. Two of the females had about five to seven ducklings. He took us to see them and the ducklings were very cute.

Making Dolls

In Craft Club the moms are helping make dolls to send to little girls in Nicaragua. The first Craft Club we got the bodies cut out, sewed together, and stuffed.

Upsided Down Tomato Plant

On Mother's Day my dad gave his mom (my grandma) a hanging tomato plant. Ellen, my Uncle Danny, and my dad planted it and hung it on the house. It looks really nice.

Mothers Day Hot Pad

This is a hot pad I hand quilted for my mom. I made it from some of our leftover fabric. She really liked it.

Cedar Waxwings

Last Thursday night we were pulling dead plants when Dad saw a group of (about twenty) birds up in the trees. We did not know what they were at first because we could not see there backs. On Saturday Dad showed me a picture I had taken and one of the birds that was looking down so we were able to identify them as Cedar Waxwings. The Cedar Waxwing migrates some areas of Nebraska. My bird book says that they live here year round, but I rarely see them.

The Wind By Robert Louis Stevenson

I saw you toss the kites on high
And blow the birds about the sky;
And all around I heard you pass,
Like ladies' skirts across the grass-
O wind a-blowing all day long,
O wind that sings so loud a song!

I saw the different things you did,
But always you yourself you hid.
I felt you push , I heard you call,
I could not see yourself at all-
O wind a-blowing all day long,
O wind that sings so loud a song!

O you that are so strong and cold,
O blower, are you young or old?
Are you a beast of field and tree,
Or just a stronger child than me?
O wind a-blowing all day long,
O wind that sings so loud a song!

Crocheted Easter Eggs

These are some Easter egg displays I crocheted for gifts. The grass is some green ribbon I had.
